im planning on racing at fastlane for the first time this saturday, and have a few questions. first one i run 5,000 nimh batteries in my slash4x4,and my t3 is this legal? it looks like most of their classes have a 4,200 limit. second question im running an 11 turn orion motor im my t3. not sure if this motor is allowed. sorry for the newb questions, but i hate being the new guy,and not knowing what im allowed to run,and not run. thanks

Better to know ahead of time, good thinking. I'm in the same boat actually... I hope to be out there in a couple of weeks with something to run. I'm sure one of the guys will jump in here shortly and answer your question.

At Real-RC the rule of thumb is run what you brung till you get dialed in. No pressure at all. Steve will find a place to run ya. Also you can look me up. I'm the tall handsome muscle bound man with all the chicks hanging around me. Cant miss me.
Your battery is legal. 6 cell and 2 cell lipos are all legal. As for the motor if you can hold on to it then they will put you in the mod truck class. But that motor will only be" legal" in that class. 13.5 and 10.5 really work well with the trucks. There's never more than one truck class and its mod.
Be sure to look me up and at least say hello. I will be signed up Racer-X And I will be running the black B44 with flames.
See ya Saturday.

Charge a pack up Friday night. The lay out right now is pretty fast and flowing so you might be able to get the feel pretty quick.
Are you getting nervous? LOL. Afraid to crash? Maybe afraid you might miss a round or step on a kit while marshalling? Maybe even wire the motor backwards? Your not alone ...........ME TOO! HA!
GO FAST AND TRY NOT TO CRASH!

You should 4x4 is serous racing.. GRRR! All of the fastest racers are in this class. We are up to about 20+ 4x4's Consistent B mains every week. Making the A is tough.
Tebo, Parks, Hale, Cook, Cathlina, Gardner. Hisel, That leaves one spot to make the A and every one wants it.......LOL

Don't they have a "training wheels" class? I'd hate to break someone elses stuff because I haven't touched a controller in 2 years :)

We always make the new guys wear a diaper on there head for there first night out. But in Kcgoat04's case we will make an exception.........LOL
If you break some one we have found that duct taping the crazy driver up and laying him across the finish line and bashing him with our kits was the best teacher. Just to much screaming and kicking. Now we just make the perp wear lipstick and hi-heels while he marshals.

I think if you just get the antenna to stay on and strap a couple of wires up you will be on the right track. See ya next time. Practice never hurts either. Those right turns will throw ya...LOL

Wadda ya mean the tracks not flat??!! Yeah off roads a whole new world, I like the diversity of the layout. I ran oval for awhile and enjoyed it but always enjoy offroad more, even if I'm a horrible driver, I still have fun, thats why I'm here. I'm lucky in that even if I'm in last (which happens often) I still have a good time. I do it for entertainment and being "with the guys". I guess I'm not competetive enough to worry about 1st place and realistic enough to realize I just dont have the skills it takes to get there. So I get out there , crash and drive and do it all over the next time. Rock on!

i had problems with my t3 all day. i hardly ever run that truck, its my backup if i break my slash. i may just continue to run my slash only, but i figure if i can run two classes that will help me get a grasp on the off road sooner. we'll see.

WOW...are we talking about the CORR 4x4 truck class being almost FULL for racing in the A Main? Last I heard it was a pretty much 'non-serious' class that any old newbie could run in?
I'm just about ready to start racing I think. Might TRY Wednesday night. Anyway...I'll be there tonight. Looking forward to seeing what 'small changes' Hillbilly did to the track (he was saying that he was going to do some changes last Monday for Wednesday racing). Going to bring along at least ONE new guy with me...maybe two. Neither of these guys has EVER been on a track. So it should be a lot of FUN for them. Hopefully they'll be HOOKED like we all are! The more the merrier right?

I thought maybe that you just slapped that together? More on the track time will for sure help.

Yeah the more the merrier. The changes I think you will like. The track is a bit longer but faster. You will be able to put more power down with you trucks.
