I wanted to invite everyone that would like to join us on August 6th in Oklahoma City at Action R/C Raceway http://actionrc.com (http://actionrc.com) We'll be heading down there Friday around noon and will return on Sunday. I believe there are a few guys driving down Saturday morning for the race that starts at 6pm on Saturday.

I will be contacting Jerald (track operator) Sunday afternoon for all the details we will need. If you have questions or need more info, please ask here and I will contact the track for info.

This will be a great chance for most of us to experience a different track and meet more RC Racers!!!!

If you are interested in going, please let us know by posting here. We can try to combine transportation for those going.

Chris and I are in, but DANG!
How do you pack to go race?
What do you bring?
I'm thinking of buying a 20' trailer and pack up the whole race shop!!! lol
This will be an experiance for me as I have not traveled to race since the late 80's.

Might use the boat as a trailer because I have been packing it full of crap for competitive travel for the last 18 years. LMAO

P.S. I guess the yelling out loud "Chris Go Get Me In The Shop" ain't going to work in Oklahoma City

Dave: If you've seen the collection of junk that I bring to the track you've pretty much got the idea of what you need for a road trip! I pretty much have my entire race shop (as far as tools, spare parts, wheels & tires) with me for each car I'm running in each class when I go racing!

You're SPOILED - you're always racing at HOME!!!! :)

But seriously, pretty much all of us are doing whatever you would do for a "road trip" each time we come down - and as you well know, all of us forget something from time to time and you're always kind enough to help us out! (My big item that I rarely remember is an EXTENSION CORD - probably should just put one in the 'ole 'Ho where I keep my jumper cables and I'd be good!)...... AND, you're going to a very racer friendly track that is run by racers and has a SUPER hobby shop for those last minute items you would happen to forget (1/8th scale..... Engine....... tires...... wheels...) :)

Soooo, just make a list of everything that you've sent Chris back to the shop for ALL SEASON and I believe you'll pretty much have it covered! :)

As a side note, I won't be attending *this time* because we'll have my grandaughter that Saturday and I haven't been spending enough time with her lately - AND she's sooooo sweet - hard to believe that she's related to my son & I! :) She's almost 3 and really just now becoming a LOT of fun for Grandpa to hang out with! Actually, wife was pretty much in favor of my going BUT my heart strings are certainly pulled by that sweet little girl!

Soooo, just remember my classy Jack Danials box which is where the "overflow" goes.......

Should be a blast, I've heard nothing but good things about the track and people at Action RC. Cya soon!

Might need a bit of help keeping Matt and Dave out of trouble though!!!! if any of you have been to OKC and around the SE 59th and 44th ST area you know those 2 will be in trouble lol. Lets say there is a bit of "entertainment clubs" in the area ;)

When you mean "entertainment" do you mean that we get to go to Chucky Cheeses?

Just got home a few minutes ago. MAN WHAT A TRIP! We all had such a good time. We also had some success. Four of us,in three classes finished in the top three of the A-Mains! Action Rc is a great track. Alot more techincial than what I'm used to here at Timberline. Piston and DEIMATT will be posting some pics and results soon.
I what to thank Jerald and Ginna Hawthorne for being such great host for all of us from Heartland Rc who came to visit them.

We were very fortunate to spend a little time with Garretts, Mom and Dad, Larry and Caroline* Cottingham. We were treated to a dinner Friday night that stood up to Oklahoma hospitality, smoked bbq ribs, smoked sausage, brisket, ranch style bbq beans, corn on the cob, green beans, homemade rolls and a ice cream lime cookie thang ma jig dessert hmmm man it was great.
Larry Cottingham works in the capital building (for the Senator) in Ok City and was able to give us a private tour of the capital building which Chris and I found very interesting. Never seen so much natural marble and granett* in my life.
While after the tour we were treated to a Grilled Burger Lunch before heading off to the track.
Thanks to Garrett, and Mom and Dad Cottingham
P.S. I only gained 5# on this road trip LMAO
