Hi All,
Sorry this is so late but i've been working long hours all week and have been beat when I get home. We had another great turn out and Donna and I thank you for that. Congrats to Jim Rupard for setting a new track record in the Sprint Car with 41 Laps at 4:02.288 and to Lenny Blocker in the 4WD Late Model with 47 Laps at 4:00.165. I have a few things I would like to say now, they might upset some people and if they do I'm sorry but this is the way it has to be. Donna and I built this track so everyone could come and enjoy the hobby and have a good time. What took place last week is unacceptable and can't happen again. We want people to bring there families and have a good time. The more people we get interested the bigger it will get. I wish everyone would take a look at what we are doing, we are playing with toy cars not racing for some big purse at the end of the day. This is a hobby not what we do for a living. We are all competitive by nature and want to win, but that doesn't always happen. With the caliber of racers we have it is a accomplishment just to make the A Main.in all the classes. Heck I broke the old track record with my Sprint car and was still in the B Main. If you see someone having trouble with there car or setup, offer to help them. That's what a club is designed to do help people. The main thing is for everyone to have FUN!!!!!!! What I'm trying to say is if your competitivness is so strong that you get upset if you don't finish well, maybe this isn't the track for you. From now on no rules will be changed during the season. If will feel there needs to be a change it will be discussed when the rules are written for the next season. We as a club have a good thing going and I will not allow anyone to take that away from us.
We hope you all have a great 4th of July. Our next pratice day is July 6th and our next race day is July 10th. The 2nd Annual Kansas Dirt Oval Championship is July 16th. I have been told that we have some racers coming up from Oklahoma to join us.
