So far the weather looks like it will be the best day of the year!!
Sunny, blue bird skies, little wind and 80 degrees!!!!!!!!

The construction crew really took advantage last Saturday from the cancellation of the race to get a lot done to the track.

We have all the electrical outlets done, all the airlines are done , everybody will have a air nozzle in each pit and all the tables are built!

We have enough premanent tables for 60 people

I do have a small request...My son Chris is Graduating this Friday and there is something going on at school or church most every night this week. Deb is getting ready for her biggest craftshow she has ever done. (and will not be around this weekend)
So Im out of time in the evenings to get the track groomed. (4" of rain didnt help it much)!!!!
If some of you could show up a little early and help prep the track before 8:30AM Saturday it would be a big help?
Thanks Dave Smreker

Well Ill be there w/ MGT XB8 oh yeah I got everything repaired on the MGT cant wait to run with other people to see if it is improved over last year. As far as getting there early we will have to see. I think my lovely wife wants to have movie night...... That can go pretty late. But Ill make an effort to wake up early. See you all there.......................... :redpepper

My buggy is still sitting here with dirt on it from the last time I was out there. I want to get it cleaned up, and i want to race....but i have no time to do either. You see we had the great idea to get our family a puppy. It's a boxer pup that is adorable..........and a TON of work. Also we are having our neighborhood garage sale here in beautiful Lee's Summit on Saturday so I have been pretty darn busy with that arrangement!

You guys enjoy the weather and if anyone makes it out Sunday to O.P., I should be making a 'racing' appearance there.....and i'm sure i will have the 'baby' :)

Here's the little one...

What a day!

in the MT I managed to qualify for the A even though the transmission had a slight problem... a meltdown. Dave was kind enough to "lend" me a transmission from his truck so I could make the 2nd qualifier. Dave, ill rebuild your transmission this afternoon! It also had a meltdown lol. Anyhow, I decided to start the A main to gather a few points... even though the transmission only had 1st gear. What a painfull run that was! Fortunatly, for me, a few others had trouble and couldn't finish, which let me finish 2nd.

"I'm only going to run 1 lap then shut it down" thats what I thought... but once I got out there and started running I just couldn't stop LOL. MT's were dropping like flies so I thought "what the heck" I'll limp around the track and see what happens!

Had a blast though!

Calling Mr. TQ .... Calling Mr. TQ

Congrats to Steve for the TQ and A Main win in MT Saturday! I know I know... Shoulda Coulda Woulda's never got anything done but man we would have had a good race ( I think?) if that stupid transmission would have stayed in the truck. We'll have some close racin' this year I think.

This was the first time out for me and my MGT since a complete overhaul this winter. I can honestly say Ive lost all desire to sell my MGT after racing it Saturday. It was the best its ever handled and easy to drive... I would also so like to give a shout out to all thread for allowing me to run in the A-Main since I smoked my turnbuckle before the second qualifier trying to clear the triples. Brian was able to bend it back once to allow me to continue to qualify. But on the second bend it broke. Off to the booming metropolis of Osowatomie for some all thread and the rest is TQ history(Inside Joke)..... :redpepper :redpepper Ha!!!!!!!HA!!!!!!

Oh yeah my wife was not to pleased that I left at 7:00am and got home at 11pm. Thanks to the long winded and charismatic Dave Smrecker....

lol yea that was a pretty cool fix... however odd it looked seeing a stick of "All-Thread" in the back of your truck.

But Mr.TQ,
Bench racing is almost as fun as the real thing. You get to talk about the one that got away. Wait thats the wrong sport? Must of had a fishing flash back there.

Hmmmmmm......

just when I was thinking something was "fishy"......

:)

Had a GREAT time Saturday! AND I learned that it's not a *bad* idea to have just a bit of a clue how long your car/buggy will run BETWEEN fuel stops.....

BUT, if you've got Garett pitting for you it's just a minor thing - he can run pretty darned fast when motivated! BUT, it really doesn't matter where you finish if you're having fun and I had a BUNCH of that!

PLUS, I got to see parts of a Savage that I only vaguely remember!

:)

TOASTY!!!!

Oven baked Savage transmission(S)

Just call me the Chef. My recipe is, take one stock transmission, without any work, behind a wasp .26. leave it on the track for oooo say 4 minutes and you'll have a special treat in no time.
