I was being tempted by one of them yesterday... it was just sitting on the floor calling to me... Jeff.. buy me.. you know you want to... there's room on the card... I'm so lonely... there were 6 of us here and now there is only 2 of us left... and my brother is leaving me soon... please take me home....
But I resisted.. for now... HA :D

haha that's very true and I know someone who will be selling his since he's got the nice ST-R now... provided Daniel doesn't buy it.. maybe I'll be next in line... :D
Brandon
04-05-2006, 02:32 PM
:D They are going like hotcakes right now since the ST-R just came out.
I've scene em sale for $350 and $400. I kinda prefer new myself when I can afford it.
One thing is for sure, Whatever truggy you do come up with, be it the Kyosho, Jammin, hotbodies, or whatever, you will have way more fun driveing it then you ever will anything else.
I had a total blast wheelin my truck around the track on saturday.

They Are Yery Much Fun To Drive, I Had A Hot Bodys, Then I Got A Crt, And Man They Are Easy To Drive, And They Jump Good And Handle The Bumps So Good, They Are A Blast.

Well I wouldn't pay $350 or higher for a used one.. they are only like $500 - $550 new aren't they? At that close I would for sure get a brand new one... however $250 or so could be a totally different story...
My only problem is that I think I would need a new engine for the truggy.. I don't know if my RB 3 Port could push the truggy... it's got lots of power but with the extra weight of the truggy... would be a shame to have to replace an engine that only has a bit over 1/2 gallon on it...
Sorry for the thread hijack Steve!! LOL BTW, the body looks really good IMO once it's cut out... I'm lookin' at 2 of them right now :D Well those 2 plus a Savage F-350, 2 ProLine SP2 bodies and a Proline Mugen Body... :leaving:

I got my st-r for 649.95 online........ I already have the SP2 so it just makes since to get this too. And that my friends is sound logic that your wife will agree too.....

wow that's a good online price... best I saw was $695 with free shipping... but if I get anything I'm going to buy it @ Action RC... I like having a place to race so I'll give them my money instead of someone online who I don't know :D
Not knocking your prurchase or anything, just stating my thoughts :)

Plus you get 3 free races @ Action ... about $50.

oo that reminds me... I have 3 race passes to use at Action :)

Looking good twofifty I like the black rims and wing did you dye those also what did you decide to go with in your diffs. Im running 7k front/10k center/3k rear. supposedly with the helical diffs you can run lower weight diff fluids so Ive been told.
Steve C
04-05-2006, 10:56 PM
Well I can tell you if I lived by action and raced there on a regular basis I would have purchased from them but By buying it online it alowed me to spend the extra 100 dollars on higher marked up items at my local hobby shop so it washes in the end I think. They dont make a huge amount on kits anyway it all the other stuff that they make there money on as they should.....

Damm good work Phil!! The rims and wing look good black! That's the glossyest dye job I've ever seen!
Your body is all masked... I think I'm going to head to the track to see if I can figure out if I got that leak fixed or not and then in the afternoon head back and start painting....
twofifty

The wing and rims are dyed ... simmered in black RIT for about 45 min then put them straight into cold water.
I'm starting with 10 / 25ish / 3 ... 60 / 60 Associated in the shocks ... we'll see.
The Kyosho wheels rub the tie-rods ... I don't get full steering throw (using Fioroni knuckles). We put the 1/2 offset Ofna wheels on and it added more steering (full lock).
Jerald is going to call Pavidas tomorrow and see if that is normal.
Steve C
04-05-2006, 11:29 PM
Yeah that seems odd that they would rub. This could be a dumb thought but Im gonna shoot it out there would where the Steering arms are placed it the steering plate matter. Im running mine in the middle hole. Might not matter but just a thought. So you are running 25k in the center hmmmm I though about going that high can you tell me why you chose to go that high...... Any info would be great I did see Pavidis setup sheet posted and he runs 15-20k but he said that would be different with a .28 you think he ment he would go higher on diff fluid or lower.

Steve C ... Action seems to be the exception and not the rule. Traveling all over TX, and some in AR, I've found that a lot of tracks don't have shops or the shops have a limited amount of parts ... if I was in that boat I'm sure I would shop online as well.

I threw darts ... that's how I picked my diffs.
It wouldn't matter where you had your Ackerman, it would still rub. Lots of the K trucks at Silver State were running the K wheels, they either set the end points to where they wouldn't rub or cut the wheels. I'll post on here what we find out.
No idea if you would go up or down for a 28 ... I'm going to be running a RB C6BB (freakin monster).
Steve C
04-05-2006, 11:51 PM
Oh no not the c6BB you crazy man crazy!!!!!LOL Can you say wheelie at full speed down the back stretch......

I want race passes to Action!! JERALD!
Brandon
04-06-2006, 09:56 AM
.28, would warrant a little heavier center diff fluid. just keeps the front tires from ballooning.

I can't say as I disagree with you for your situation :) Back in Canada I would buy stuff from the local stores mainly on impulses.. LOL But if I thought about stuff it got mail ordred... your get RAPED up there on RC stuff... heck if ever I move back and IF I stay with RC (there's no tracks up there) I'll still mail order stuff.. it will just likely be from Action RC! LOL

Thats great news man. You made a good choice in that buggy Ive heard really good things about it. Cant wait to see it run in your capable hands. I saw you drive the old classic buggy and it went real well with you behind the wheel. So no telling what you will be capable of with this new buggy. It aint gonna be easy this year for anyone to take a win I can tell you that. Lots of pepole with top class buggys and skills to match.............. Who ever gets a win at tline this year in buggy my hat goes off to them because they will really have earned it. Im just glad I get to be a part of it all.

Man, I am going to be so out-classed this year in the 1/8 scale. Oh, well, me and my Ofna LX are still going to give you guys all we've got.
Jeff_OKC
04-10-2006, 09:16 PM
Don't count the LX out of it... One of the guys @ Action who usually races a revo will use is g/f's LX from time to time and usually gets on the podium in Sportsman...
